OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University defeated Mid-America Christian 9-1 using Ryan Trudgian's hat trick on Tuesday at Stars Field.
Trudgian, a senior from St. Austell, England, booted in two penalty kicks to spark the Stars. Trudgian made the score 4-0 in favor of OCU off Zach Russell's feed at 43:45 into the match.
OCU, ranked 12th in NAIA men's soccer, improved to 10-3-1. The Stars fired 38 shots to Mid-America's five.
Andy Taylor started OCU's scoring by tallying an unassisted goal at the 33:11 mark. Taylor, a junior from Liverpool, England, added an assist on Stuart Hilton's goal to put the Stars up 5-0 at 54:56.
Russell, a freshman from Plano, Texas, end up scoring a goal of his own at 82:29 using Luke Garvey's cross pass.
Chris Spendlove and Masataka Ido also scored goals for OCU.
The Stars face John Brown (Ark.) at 4 p.m. Saturday at Stars Field on senior day.
